पटना के बेउर जेल से तीन दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत के बाद तेज प्रताप यादव को मंगलवार को रिहा कर दिया गया. कोर्ट के आदेश पर जेल से बाहर आए तेज प्रताप ने बिना कोई बयान दिए हाथ जोड़कर समर्थकों और मीडिया का अभिवादन किया. उन्हें 25 जुलाई को परीक्षा में कथित अनियमितताओं के विरोध में बुलाए गए बिहार बंद का समर्थन करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था. पुलिस का आरोप है कि उनके कृत्यों से प्रदर्शन उग्र हुआ और सार्वजनिक संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचा, जबकि बचाव पक्ष ने गिरफ्तारी और FIR दर्ज होने के समय को लेकर सवाल उठाए हैं
